YOUR COMMITMENT Please don’t over commit your son or daughter. This is a big commitment. We expect 100% commitment; all team members are to attend all practices, skills and games. We expect this to be you primary team. Although games are an important part of the commitment, practices and skills are the emphasis for development of the players.

OUR COMMITMENT – Includes league games, practices, skills and goalie clinics. Your coaches will create the best possible environment for players to develop by creating a teaching atmosphere where players are exposed to defensive zone coverage, fore checking, back checking, power play, penalty killing and checking. We are committed to make our program competitive and fun.

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY – It is the philosophy of this program to enhance the development of each player’s individual hockey skills as well as his or her self-esteem and confidence. We believe that one of the most important ingredients of success is self-confidence, and it is our responsibility as coaches to help young players feel good about themselves and their accomplishments, while at the same time keeping it fun for all players.

“The Mastery Approach”

  • Improving Skill through Effort and learning proper technique
  • Mistakes are seen as a valuable part of the learning process
  • Success is measured against one’s own personal best, not comparison to another’s performance
  • Striving to win is important – but not the only thing that is important
  • We can’t always control outcome- we can always strive to give our best effort
  • We will win & Lose as a TEAM
  • Everyone will play
 Parent’s Role: Our Expectation
  • Support the Cause
  • Let the coaches Coach your kids – too many voices will confuse
  • Offer positive support – “The Driveway Rule”
    • Point out 3 things your child did well during that game or practice before you reach your driveway
  • Respect opposing teams and officials ALWAYS – it is important to set the right example for our kids
  • Positive Enthusiasm is welcomed and appreciated by our players and coaches

Your role as parents is vitally important to creating the best possible environment for our kids to participate in youth hockey.  The coaching staff looks forward to the opportunity to help our kids grow as people and hockey players.  We need your support to create a positive, fulfilling experience for the kids.  Our kids deserve it!

Good luck and thank you for participating in this years tryouts for the Bay State Breakers
